Our Commitment to Transparency and Resilience

Since we believe that transparency and openness are key in any personal or professional relationship, and because we believe that in an environment built on mutual trust, transparency acts as an enabler to cooperation, innovation, and generally strengthens trust, we want to share our experience in dealing with the challenging situation we have faced over the past few days with you, our clients, colleagues, friends, and supporters.

We can probably agree that the overall global situation is currently quite complicated. We are facing various global challenges including environmental and social issues, serious war conflicts, an unprecedented attack on the fundamental pillars of democracy, and the values on which the free world we are part of stands. All this naturally impacts the global economic scene, which is also felt in the IT sector globally.

In nearly 14 years of Hotovo's existence, we have encountered all sorts of issues, including unexpected decisions by clients, poor payment discipline, and writing off significant uncollectible receivables when a client with billions in valuation suddenly became a bankrupt debtor with major problems. We have always managed these situations at the expense of comfort or profit, without affecting our people in the team, as our great team is our greatest value.

Over these nearly 14 years, we have also been able to help many of our clients through various crises and support each other, and many of these clients have become our friends over the years, something we are very proud of. The same is true of the people on our team, who have repeatedly demonstrated their character, adaptability, and team spirit in crisis situations.

The situation we have found ourselves in over the past few months is similar to those we have easily overcome in the past, but it differs in the suddenness of changes and their scope. Over a few months, due to strategic decisions of our clients, we unexpectedly lost several projects. Unfortunately, there's usually not much that can be done with this type of decision. What is important to us is that these were not decisions related to the quality of our services or the satisfaction of our clients. The people we work with on a daily basis for many years (in some cases more than a decade) have been consistently satisfied with our work, and these changes surprised many of them just as much as us.

Although we are prepared for such situations and have experience with them, the scale of these events has forced us to make tough decisions. Even though we quickly adapted to the situation and are doing everything we can, we were forced to part ways with several team members.

On the other hand, we managed the situation in such a way that we protected the interests of our clients and the smooth operation of the company. Thanks to this, 90% of our team was not affected, which we consider an excellent result given the suddenness of the changes and the overall market situation.

Hotovo is about people, mutual trust, and being able to rely on each other. Whether it's members of our team or clients, knowing where each of us stands and being able to act accordingly is very important to us. Therefore, we speak the truth, just as things are, and we try to ensure that our partners treat us in the same way. And although our efforts at transparent communication are not always fairly reciprocated for various reasons, we are convinced that this is the best way to work together successfully and in the long term. This is confirmed by the number of our long-term partnerships we are part of based on this foundation.

We will try to keep our team members and find them places on projects and we will do everything we can to achieve this. So far, it's going well, and we are convinced that we will be able to keep as many of them as possible.

Challenging and often completely unexpected situations are simply part of life, but we have always seen challenges and changes as new opportunities, and that will continue.

We therefore focus on what we do best: creating quality software solutions and helping our customers successfully achieve their goals.

We will continue to build on our experiences, abilities, and quality relationships and continue to seek and create opportunities where we can best apply these skills and qualities.

Currently, we are launching several promising collaborations, which confirms that the demand for quality services in the field of software solutions in the market continues, despite current challenges. In addition to developing solutions including web or mobile apps, system integration, or automation, we are working on several projects using applied AI/ML and are also active in applying low-code/no-code. In addition to solutions for our clients, we continue to develop several of our own products in the fields of green tech and social tech. All very cool stuff.

Once again, we thank all our clients, employees, and everyone who has contributed over the long years to what Hotovo is today, and we look forward to further successful cooperation.
