Work-life balance is a key

Have you been fortunate enough to have turned on ‘Time Insights’ within your Google calendar? I wasn’t aware of the feature until now, (released in 2021). Insights is a feature that gives you the ability to better understand how you're spending your time in Google Calendar.

You can categorise your time by naming and assigning the corresponding coloured labels to events within Time Insights in Google Calendar.

Personally I love little releases and updates such as this from Google.

With Insights enabled, you can get a very quick overview via the colour coding options for your scheduled meetings, letting you know from a thousand feet high, exactly where your time is being spent... (and how the work life balance is working out for you)🙂

I don't know about you, but quite often I'm thinking my time is being eaten up by tasks that are either a distraction from my family or from my work and I’m always looking to check in that I have some equilibrium applied!

Insights give me this little peace of mind, a check and balance for my brain. Allowing me to make the necessary changes as soon as I start feeling some of life’s imbalance😵‍

At Hotovo, many of our values are based upon health and family first. Whilst the pressures of delivering a great service to our clients and colleagues sometimes mean that we drop the ball in this area, ignoring your personal time is time you will never get back, so in my opinion adding a little reminder like this to the master diary in your life is a great way of keeping tabs on what's most important🙂
