Experience the camaraderie, excitement & fun

Working in Hotovo's UK branch has always been a pleasure when, comparatively, we are one of the smaller branches without a direct focus on growing engineering teams. Having a small business or start-up environment can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

There is often a sense of camaraderie and excitement as everyone works towards a shared goal, and the pace is typically fast-paced and dynamic. Add to this working alongside scores of larger and remote teams in different countries into the mix and the fun factor skyrockets 🙂

“One of the most obvious benefits of working with colleagues in other countries is the opportunity to learn about different cultures and work styles. You may be surprised to find that people in other parts of the world approach problem-solving or communication differently than we do in the UK. By working together and sharing ideas, we expand our horizons and develop new skills and perspectives. Another fun aspect of working with our international colleagues is the chance to travel – I say this having just returned from 10 days of work (including some skiing, hiking and plenty of après-ski!). Depending on the nature of your work, you may have the opportunity to visit your colleagues in their home countries or attend conferences or events together and this can be an exciting way to learn more about different parts of the world and form deeper connections with coworkers 🙂

“Working with remote colleagues also presents unique challenges that can be fun to tackle together. Communication can be more difficult when you're not in the same physical space, but by experimenting with different tools and approaches, you can develop a shared language and find creative ways to collaborate. At Hotovo we use Hangouts, huddles, WhatsApp, Slack, phone, or even online game platforms to meet and host virtual brainstorming sessions throughout the day! Finally, working in this environment can simply be a lot of fun. When you're working in a small business or start-up environment, you inherently spend long hours together and develop close relationships with co-workers. With good friends and colleagues in other countries, this adds a new dimension to these relationships, as you grow and share stories and experiences from different parts of the world, it's lovely to end up making lifelong friends who are based miles and miles away from where you live!”🙂
